From South Florida’s Leading IT Managed
Services Provider: A note regarding the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
|
-From Geovani Aday, VP Information Technology,
SYMBITS
|
SYMBITS is proud to be the South
Florida IT Department and Support help desk for many
small and medium-sized businesses such as yours. We
also strive to be a trusted advisor, helping our
clients become even more successful. This is a small
example of how SYMBITS can impact both your network
but your company’s long term success, as we recently
discussed with you. It is for that reason that we
wish to share the following information regarding
ARRA, in the event that it may help you in your
business.
On Friday, February 17, 2009,
President Obama signed the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act into law. It contained some great
news and opportunities for Small Businesses. This
law allows you to leverage large capital purchases
and invest in new business lines or opportunities,
while leveraging technology in order to compete with
larger, less nimble competitors. The ARRA allows
for: • Extension of the 50% bonus depreciation
created in 2008 until the end of 2009. This means
that businesses making capital investments
(including all aspects of its network and computer
systems!) can take an immediate 50% depreciation for
their taxes. • Businesses can write off up to
$250,000 on total purchases up to $800,000. That's
up from $125,000 with a phase-out at $500,000 in
2007. • Net operating losses can be carried back
five years, instead of the usual two-year period.
This applies to companies with average receipts of
up to $15 million. New technology (both hardware
and software), together with the Internet, levels
the playing field against larger, slower moving
competitors. Evolving technology considerations
could increase your reach towards new national and
even international prospects. We would expect that
you and your accounting firm have reviewed potential
projects that this law could influence, but in case
you have not had the opportunity and would like more
information, please let us know and we would be
happy to provide additional documentation, and to
partner with you to explore potential opportunities.
SYMBITS continues to offer a free
comprehensive Network Assessments to potential
clients. Our MSP Solution continues to save small
businesses like yours an average of 37% (not
including all employee downtime or waiting for
current resource to allocate time to troubleshoot)
of current IT Support Spend.
We are also 15
days into the 2009 Hurricane season. Do you still
have an employee monitoring your backup tapes? When
was the last time you tested the reliability of
those tapes? What would it cost you to bring your
server back on-line (lost sales and employee
downtime)? Can your current IT Company or person
recover that data? SYMBITS’ Business Continuity
(backup and disaster recovery) Solution has the
capability to bring your company back on-line within
two hours, while only missing the last 15 minutes of
data.
Please contact Carlos Miyares today at
786-364-4740 to schedule time to meet and show you
how SYMBITS makes your network more secure, more
reliable, and an asset to your company.
